Official Receiver

The term refers to a person who is an officer of the Insolvency Service. At the same time, the person is also an officer of the court to which he is attached, and he most often acts as an insolvency practitioner in cases of individual voluntary arrangements. Another definition mentions some other duties of an official receiver: he has to deal with the responsibilities involved by dealing with bankruptcies or creditors' liquidation.
